Alabama is going to the College Football playoffs. The Crimson Tide jumped from number eight in the rankings to the fourth slot in the upcoming semifinal games. Alabama will play number one ranked Michigan in the Rose Bowl for a chance at the title.

Jalen Milroe passed for a career-high 321 yards and Jermaine Burton caught two touchdown passes as No. 11 Alabama beat Texas A&M 26-20 on Saturday to take control of the SEC West. Burton had nine catches for 197 yards for the Crimson Tide.

The Texas A&M Aggies insist that they’re treating Saturday’s visit by No. 11 Alabama the same as any other game. Even so, it’s impossible for them to ignore the fact that a win over the Crimson Tide would give them a big push as they aim for their first SEC West title since joining the league in 2012.

The Alabama Crimson Tide moved up to number three in the Associated Press Top 25 following Saturday’s defeat of Middle Tennessee. However, the big news could be Colorado and Duke which surged into the ranking following upset victories over TCU and Clemson. Duke is now number twenty-one and Colorado number twenty-two.

Jalen Milroe turned a bad snap into an improbable touchdown run. He launched three on-target deep balls for scores, too. Milroe threw three long touchdown passes and ran for a pair of scores, including one where he turned a potentially huge loss into a dash to the end zone, to lead number four ranked Alabama to a 56-7 season-opening victory over Middle Tennessee State on Saturday night.

An Indiana man whose son is a member of the University of Cincinnati baseball team is the bettor at the center of separate college sports gambling investigations, according to two people familiar with the inquiries. One investigation led to the firing of Alabama coach Brad Bohannon earlier this month.
