The Alabama Democratic Party came out of last week's election still holding a majority of the elected offices in county courthouses statewide, but the Republican Party whittled away at the last Democratic stronghold.
State Republican Party Chairman Bill Armistead said the GOP had a net gain of 45 county offices. That included everything from probate judge and circuit judge to county school board seats.
