UAB Student Crowned Miss Alabama

Birmingham, AL – Alexa Jones upgraded her title from Miss Mobile to Miss Alabama 2005 Saturday night. Jones beat out 49 other contestants for the crown. The 24-year-old Andalusia native claimed the top prize after being named third runner-up in last year's contest. Jones is an art history major at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She will hold the Miss Alabama title for one year and will represent Alabama in the Miss America pageant. Kelly Hawkins of Birmingham was chosen first runner-up, Julia McNeese of Montgomery placed second, Jessica Headley of Hoover was third and Amy Philips-Redclist of Birmingham was fourth runner-up.
