Birmingham, AL – A new statewide group called the Alabama Progressive Democrats is forming. Linda Haynes is the chair pro-tem for the group. She says the Alabama Progressive Democrats will be looking to make changes in the party. She says the Alabama Progressive Democrats is an affiliate of a national organization called Progressive Democrats of America. The Alabama Progressive Democrats include former supporters of Wesley Clark, Howard Dean, John Kerry, Dennis Kucinich, and Al Sharpton. A planning meeting to discuss issues and group formation will be held this Sunday in the U-A-B Education building at 2 p-m.
