Moore Considering Campaign for Governor

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – Former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore says he's considering running for governor in 2006. He says if he returns to politics, he likely could campaign as a Republican. That sets up the possibility that he would challenge Governor Bob Riley in the Republican primary. Riley has not yet said publicly whether he'll seek a second term. Moore was removed as Chief Justice in November of last year because he did not obey a federal judge's order to remove his Ten Commandments monument from the state judicial building.
