Groups Plan to Demonstrate During Bush's Visit

By Alabama Public Radio

Birmingham, AL – Some groups are taking advantage of the president's visit by holding protest demonstrations in downtown Birmingham. The Alabama Sierra Club will rally noon to 1:30 at Linn Park. The group is urging the president to do a better job protecting Alabama's and the nation's environment. The Atheist Law Center also will demonstrate around that time. The group is protesting President Bush's "faith-based initiatives." Group members say there should be a very wide dividing line between religious organizations and government.
