Birmingham, AL – The wife of British Prime Minister Tony Blair spoke Tuesday night at Samford University. Cherie Booth Blair is a human rights attorney. Blair praised the United States for efforts to protect human rights worldwide, and particularly in Iraq. But Blair also says much more must be done to combat oppression around the world. This was Blair's first trip to Birmingham. She also spoke to a smaller group of Samford students, as well as to university trustees as part of the lecture series.
