Birmingham, AL – Attorney Tom Stewart says officials with the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex are close to agreeing on a funding plan for the proposed $567 million domed stadium in the Magic City. Funding partners are planning a meeting for Thursday to further discuss the proposal. But Birmingham Mayor Bernard Kincaid says he will not attend that meeting unless he has a firm funding agreement with the BJCC. The city's position was sent in a five-page letter Wednesday to BJCC officials. The officials say they're working to address the city's demands. They also say they're trying to bring together city, county, state and private investors. But Governor Riley says no state money will be provided until backers agree on a plan.
