Bill Would Change Amendment Votes

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – A state legislator has submitted a bill that would alter the state's constitutional amendment process. Representative Linda Coleman's legislation would eliminate statewide votes for constitutional amendments that only effect one city or county. In November, a proposed amendment would have established a local school system in Trussville. The measure passed locally but failed on the statewide wide.
