Mobile Mayor Sam Jones en Mobile Police Chief Announces Retirement <p>Mobile's police chief is retiring.<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp; Chief Micheal T. Williams announced Wednesday he will step down from the post within 60 days.<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp; Williams is leaving before mayor-elect Sandy Stimpson takes office. Stimpson defeated two-term incumbent Sam Jones on Tuesday.<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp; Williams was named police chief in 2010.
