Wintry Weather

Chillier weather is moving into Alabama. With the temperatures dropping, some residents are turning to space heaters to keep warm. The devices can provide extra warmth in a drafty room or chilly home office, but they can also pose a safety risk no matter where they are used. Experts are now reminding of safety when using space heaters this winter.

Parts of the state are being advised to prepare for bad weather tonight. An approaching cold front is expected to pass over Mississippi before heading into west Central Alabama this evening. Forecasters say that could carry a slight chance of tornadoes and heavy straight-line winds.
