New Year’s Eve is tomorrow night. The Alabama Triple-A is still expecting big crowds even though 2026 begins at midnight going into Thursday. The automobile service predicted that over one hundred and twenty two million people would hit the road between Christmas and New Year’s. Triple-A spokesman Clay Ingram says everyone should expect busy roads even though New Year’s Eve falls midweek.

The Alabama Triple-A is hoping to educate cyclists, drivers, and pedestrians on road behaviors that they can practice to keep roads safe. Their goal is to decrease and ultimately end the number of deaths and injuries associated with unsafe driving behaviors.

Alabamians traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday might experience more traffic than usual this year. AAA reports this weekend to be the third busiest Thanksgiving holiday travel period of all time. The 2023 ranking follows only 2005 and 2019, respectively.

A recent study suggests Alabama has some of the cheapest gas prices in the nation, but Alabamians spend and consume more motor fuel than most Americans.
