More than 800 students from across the U.S. and Puerto Rico launched high-powered, amateur rockets near NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, as part of the culminating event for the agency’s annual Student Launch challenge.

Alabama A&M University is working to bridge the gap in the teacher shortage within the fields of Science Technology Engineering and Math. The program is called AAMUTeach. The new four-year program at Alabama A&M University offers students a teaching certification while obtaining a STEM undergraduate degree at the same time.

The State of Alabama is partnering with the Saban Center to create an innovative STEM hub and performing arts center. STEM curriculum deals with science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
