This comes from a specimen in a mosquito trap used to detect mosquito-borne diseases in the community. The virus has been confirmed by laboratory results, and the mosquito trap is in the 36541 ZIP Code area.

Two human cases of Eastern Equine Encephalitis have been reported in Baldwin County in the past few weeks. One of those illnesses ended in a fatality.
