The leader of Legal Services Alabama (LSA) is advocating for constituent access to the legal system access across the Yellowhammer State on issues like fair housing, veterans’ benefits, domestic violence and medical debt.

A judge has temporarily blocked Alabama from issuing licenses to medical marijuana facilities amid an ongoing legal battle over how the state selected the winning companies.

A judge has ordered Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission to temporarily halt the issuance of licenses to growers and distributers as two companies argue the state used a flawed and secretive process to select winners for the potentially lucrative licenses.

"We can look to the people in the middle or far east or in the middle of Africa saying to them 'America is the role model. Try to learn from us in America,' " says Imam Ossama Bahloul. Opponents had tried to block the mosque's opening.
