This year’s event marks the ninth anniversary of its celebration, making the museum one of the first large-scale Juneteenth events offered in Montgomery.

The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is celebrating Juneteenth in a big way. The Iron City organization is ringing in the holiday with their Juneteenth: A Celebration of the Culture event on Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will take place along 16th Street between 3rd and 6th Avenue.
