Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall on Florida's west coast late Wednesday or early Thursday. Alabama’s Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team deployed to the area, in anticipation of emergency response needs. The Montgomery City Council has passed the FY 2025 General Fund and Debt Service Budget. It totals more than $300 million. The budget features a 15-percent pay raise for all Montgomery Police Department sworn officers and a five percent cost-of-living adjustment for all other city employees.

Montgomery students are getting the opportunity to be involved in an upcoming Town Hall focused on the voices of the city’s youth. A contest will allow students a chance to come up with a name for the Town Hall meeting, design a promotional graphic for the event and apply to serve as one of the moderators.
