Birmingham regional chamber of commerce

  • In a polarized society, it's no surprise Americans are divided on the best places to live in the United States. Many top destinations have just as many detractors as fans. Alabama made the list, but not in a desirable way.
  • The new BJCC STAR Amphitheater will be coming to the city of Birmingham in 2025. The project will cost $50 million.Construction for the new amphitheater will begin early of next year. Tad Snider is the Executive Director of the BJCC. He says this comes after the funding approval for the project.
  • The National Association of Black Journalists honored the Alabama Public Radio news team with a national “Salute to Excellence” award. The recognition, for First Place Radio Feature, was for APR’s eight-month investigation “No Stone Unturned: Preserving Slave Cemeteries in Alabama.” The honor was announced during the NABJ National convention in Birmingham.
  • Birmingham will be hosting another sporting event starting next year. The Magic City will be the holding The Transplant Games of America in the summer of 2024. The mission of the event is to honor the legacy of people who donate and to highlight the need for organ transplants.
