Every year, Women’s History Month take place in March to celebrate and honor women's contributions to history, culture and society. The 2024 theme is “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion."

January is Cervical Cancer Prevention Month, and Alabama is making progress in the first ever statewide action plan to prevent and eliminate the disease. Operation WIPE OUT Cervical Cancer Alabama is an initiative that launched in May 2023 to help educate Alabamians about cervical cancer and prevent the illness through vaccines and screenings.

Nominations are open for the Birmingham StrongHer Campaign. This campaign recognizes women who inspire and make a difference in The Magic City. Nominees must either live, work, go to school or volunteer in the city. Nominations close on October 31st.
