http://www.mobilepd.org

Mobile's police chief is retiring.

Chief Micheal T. Williams announced Wednesday he will step down from the post within 60 days.

Williams is leaving before mayor-elect Sandy Stimpson takes office. Stimpson defeated two-term incumbent Sam Jones on Tuesday.

Williams was named police chief in 2010. He's worked for the Mobile Police Department for more than two decades.
