The City of Huntsville has seen a record setting economic impact following the end of 2024. The Rocket City's sports tourism team hosted 68 events which resulted in Huntsville seeing a $50 million economic impact.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is releasing a new report concerning traffic crashes and motor assists from the winter storm that hit Alabama between Jan. 21 and Jan. 23. Troopers responded to more than 200 of these accidents in across a majority of the counties in the Yellowhammer State.

The U.S. Department of Commerce is awarding the Birmingham Biotechnology Hub a grant. Leaders say this will help the Magic City lead in drug, vaccine and diagnostics development. The funding is also meant to support artificial intelligence-led biotechnology to increase representation in clinical trials.

The City of Mobile is expanding parking choices for parade-goers during the 2025 Mardi Gras season. The new parking options will be located in the Mobile Alabama Cruise Terminal and are only available on parade days.

The 2025 Winter PaperWorks exhibition is now open in Auburn and will run until Feb. 21 at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center. The showcase features two-dimensional and three-dimensional works created by student, professional and amateur artists.
