The University of Alabama trustees have decided to entirely remove the name of a former Ku Klux Klan leader from one of its campus buildings. The building will now only be named after the University's first Black student, Autherine Lucy Foster.

The vote on Friday was unanimous and reversed an earlier decision made last week to add Foster's name to the building formerly named for former governor Bibb Graves.

The building will now be named Autherine Lucy Hall, where Foster briefly attended classes as a student before she was expelled due to her presence being blamed for white protests and threats.
