Sen. Richard Shelby's former chief of staff has done substantial fundraising over the last quarter in the race to replace him.

Katie Boyd Britt has raised $1.5 million in the last three months, more than Rep. Mo Brooks who has raised $663,074 in the same timeframe. Former ambassador to Slovenia under Pres. Trump, Lynda Blanchard, has gathered the most cash total after taking out a $5 million loan.

Britt stepped down as head of the Business Council of Alabama to run in the 2022 race.

Shelby announced earlier this year he would not be running for reelection.
