Retired Alabama sheriff's deputy dies of COVID-19

A retired Blount County sheriff died of COVID-19 Saturday.

Buddy Hutchinson had remained active with the department after retiring by heading the office's reserve program. He also served as an officer in Oneonta and Snead.

Hutchinson will be buried Friday at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
