The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama is a finalist for the 2021 Chamber of the Year Award.
This honor recognizes the best of close to 2,000 chambers of commerce across North America. It is presented by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. The award is based on organizational management, membership finances and community impact.
Jim Page is the president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. He said the chamber’s proactivity and leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic secured their finalist spot.
“I think that’s really put us in a position to be a finalist for this award just because it’s in our DNA here in our organization and in our community to step up, to be bold and to try new things and I think that’s paid dividends for us,” he said.
Page also said the community’s adversity in difficult times has always been an important part to the chamber’s success.
“I think we’ve long had that. I think it was certainly visible after the tornado of ten years ago and I think that same mindset in this community was on full display during the pandemic and still is today,” he said.
It is the first time the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama has been named a finalist. The winners will be announced Today.
