Alabama's attorney general will be running for a second term in 2022.
Steve Marshall made the announcement on Thursday and pointed to his lawsuits against the Biden administration, specifically his energy policy.
He was appointed as the state's top law enforcement officer in 2017 by then-Gov. Robert Bentley and won the election for the office in 2018. Former Attorney General Troy King and Joe Siegelman, son of former Gov. Don Siegelman, were defeated by Marshall.
