Tuscaloosa VA hosting COVID-19 vaccine clinics

The Tuscaloosa Veteran's Affairs medical center is offering walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinics on Thursday and Friday.

The vaccine will be available from 8-11:30 a.m. to all veterans who are eligible. The clinic will be the existing COVID-19 vaccine center in the Building 137 Sports Atrium.

"Our goal is to vaccinate every eligible veteran in our catchment area," said Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center Director John Merkle. "We will even have a limited number of one-shot Janssen vaccines on hand for those who with to receive it. There is really no better time than now to get your COVID vaccine."

Those interested in receiving the vaccine should arrive wearing short-sleeve shirts or ones that can easily be pulled up. Anyone who has gotten any vaccine in the last two weeks is advised to not to get the COVID-19 vaccine at this time.
