AN APR SHORT DOCUMENTARY

Tragedy struck Ukraine in 1986 when a nuclear reactor exploded and left many people in neighboring communities effected by radioactive contamination.  

Cancer and other health issues continued to increase in neighboring country Belarus for years after the incident.  

But a group of Alabama Methodist churches decided to take action and bring local children to Alabama where they would get the one thing home couldn’t give them: fresh air.

Gray Lloyd is an Emmy award winning producer, director for the Center for Public Television. He has worked on various TV shows like "The Iron Bowl Hour", "Alabama Life", and "Alabama Inc" and was also a producer of the Emmy Award winning documentary "Mama Called." Gray is from Birmingham, Alabama and attended The University of Alabama where he earned a degree in Telecommunication and Film and eventually an internship with The Center for Public Television. When he's not working he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children. He is also an avid disc golfer, Alabama football and EPL fan, and lover of video games.
