Firefighters rescued a worker who fell 40 feet in an empty water tower on Ono Island.

Workers were painting the tower on Thursday when one fell to the bottom. The Orange Beach Fire Department used ropes and a stretcher to lift the man and then lower him to the ground 150 feet below.

Authorities said the man was alert and concious throughout the proces. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Pensacola, Florida.
