The University of Alabama has announced its plans to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among its students and faculty.

In an email from university president Stuart Bell, it was announced that classes will be canceled from Mar. 16-27. Classes will resume on Mar. 30 and will be taught via remote learning methods such as Blackboard and Zoom.

Students have been asked not to return to campus barring extraordinary circumstances. Bell said plans for moving out will be shared at a later date.

All university-funded travel, both foreign and domestic, is suspended until further notice. Non-essential meetings, gathers and events are canceled until classes resume.

Employees are expected to return on March 23 with the potential for flexible arrangements.
