The National League of Women’s Voters launched a website that is a “one-stop-shop” for voting information ahead of Alabama’s presidential primary. Vote 4-1-1-dot-org provides nonpartisan information to the public with both general and state-specific information.

“The National League developed www.vote411.org and anyone can go to that website and anyone can go to that website and it asks for one’s address and you type that in and you can find information on how to register to vote.”
The Alabama primary is coming up on March 1st. Voters can visit the website for more information on candidates and where to go to vote in their area.
The Tuscaloosa County sheriff has begun using civilians to serve subpoenas.
Sheriff Ron Abernathy says he's hired two civilians - both former jail workers - to deliver orders to appear in court and other legal documents to residents. He says the move will save money and free deputies to focus on law enforcement.
The Tuscaloosa News reports the sheriff's office served more than 14,000 legal documents last year.
Abernathy says he eliminated one deputy position to make room for the two civilian workers - whose combined pay is about $110,000.
The two civilians work full-time delivering legal documents to the public.
Theater fans in the Tuscaloosa area may get a sneak peek at a show that could soon be featured in New York City.
The University of Alabama is working with Tony award winning producer Margot Astrachan to put on a new musical called “The Countess of Storyville.” New York actors are working with Tuscaloosa Theater students to premiere the show this week.
Dominic Yaeger is with the University of Alabama’s theater department. He says this collaboration may lead to other schools getting the chance to work on future shows…
“I will say, that the Broadway world, is kinda of really excited, the producers that I’ve spoken to in New York, are very excited that this is happening in a university setting. So, it’s good to be a trendsetter, in that we’re restarting a trend that used to exist.”
“The Countess of Storyville” is about a woman who returns to New Orleans to open a brothel. After finishing in Tuscaloosa, the musical move onto Pasadena, before a possible run on Broadway.
