The University of Alabama MFA Dance Presents Unfolding
The University of Alabama Department of Theatre & Dance will host their five MFA Dance candidates on December 6. Newly choreographed and improvised dance works will be presented at 5:30pm on the Dance Theatre stage in the English Building on The University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa. Attending the concert is free for all patrons.
This concert offers an eclectic program featuring reflective, provocative, and deeply personal works. Audiences will experience both solo and ensemble pieces that provide insight into the research and creative processes of these emerging artists. Second-year MFA candidates Micah Courtland and Kate Fleming will present ensemble pieces, while first-year candidates Ricky Dieter, Sharve Kelley, and Jordan Prough will share their solo works. A post-performance talk-back session with the choreographers will follow, offering audience members the chance to engage directly with the artists about their inspirations, challenges, and experiences in creating these unique dances.
