Two Alabama State University employees with ties to suspended university President Joseph Silver are out of their jobs.
University vice president Danielle Kennedy said the vice president for business and finance, Edward Patrick, and the senior assistant to the president, Joyce Outler, no longer work for Alabama State because the board of trustees did not approve their hiring.
Patrick and Outler previously worked at Clark Atlanta University, where Silver was provost before moving to Alabama State in September.
Patrick told the Montgomery Advertiser that he and Oliver were placed on paid leave on Nov. 27. That was the day after the board of trustees suspended Silver. Then they got word three days later that their employment had not been approved by the board and their pay was ending.
