Forecasters say Alabama's coast remains under a flooding threat following heavy rains, and more precipitation is on the way.
Some areas already have received as much as 4 inches of rain in the last two days, and the weather service says another 4 inches could fall in spots by Saturday morning.
Rainfall totals of 1 inch to 3 inches are expected across a wide area of southwest Alabama.
Southwest Alabama, southeastern Mississippi and the western Florida Panhandle remain under a flash flood watch through Friday afternoon. While some areas could receive 5 inches of rain through Sunday, forecasters say conditions should improve.
The weather service says there's a high risk of dangerous rip currents on beaches in Mobile and Baldwin counties. A Georgia man drowned in heavy surf in Orange Beach on Wednesday.
