Alabama Music Hall Sets Target Date For Reopening

Alabama Music Hall of Fame

Supporters of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame have set a target date to reopen the tourist attraction.

The Music Hall of Fame board members hope to reopen the facility in Tuscumbia by Oct. 17.

State Tourism Director Lee Sentell said the date is one day before the opening of the documentary "Muscle Shoals" in Birmingham. Sentell said Oct. 17 is a tentative date that could change.

Sentell made the announcement during the hall of fame's board meeting in Birmingham, the first meeting held since Sentell and two others were appointed by Gov. Robert Bentley to fill vacancies on the board.

When the go-ahead is given to reopen, the hall of fame will be open 9 a.m until 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
