Montgomery, AL – Greenville businessman Tim James is beginning to organize his Republican campaign for governor in 2010.
Political strategist Brett Hall has been brought on as campaign director. Hall previously served as spokesman for former Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher. He has also worked on several statewide campaigns in Georgia, the Northeast and Midwest. Hall says James plans to open a campaign office in Montgomery in July.
Chip Saltsman, who was campaign manager for former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, is serving as senior adviser to James. James said Saltsman will target Huckabee supporters in Alabama. Huckabee won Alabama's presidential primary on Feb. 5.
James is the son of former Gov. Fob James. James ran for governor in 2002 and lost the Republican primary to Bob Riley.
