Underwriting Account Executive - Open

Alabama Public Radio (APR) is seeking an Underwriting Account Executive to develop underwriting sales in the Tuscaloosa/ Birmingham/ Montgomery areas.  This is an opportunity to be a part of the development team for the APR network which broadcasts across three-fourths of the state of Alabama. The candidate must possess the ability to research, generate and maintain client relationships to increase station underwriting revenue as well as manage existing accounts. Exceptional verbal, writing, planning and organizational skills are required.

This position will have a territory that has not been actively managed in several years.  Some accounts have continued to provide support to APR, however there is an opportunity for the right person to engage with the current underwriters more and develop new accounts in the growing Tuscaloosa/Montgomery markets as well as in Birmingham.  The successful candidate can do well in this role while supporting Public Radio across Alabama.

APR is housed in The University of Alabama’s new state-of-the-art digital media center, occupying 50,000 square feet within Bryant Denny Stadium and home to Alabama Public Radio, the Center for Public Television, WVUA-TV, and Crimson Tide Productions. Alabama Public Radio reaches nearly 80% of the state with a news and music format and has earned multiple regional and national awards for its original news programming.
