Current statistics indicate only 2 or 3  of the kittens in the picture will be adopted - the others will be euthanized because there are not enough homes.   The answer is not more more homes, but fewer kittens (and puppies) born into a society where there are just too many already!

Some Alabama lawmakers want to make sure that nonprofit spay and neuter clinics can keep their doors open.

The House of Representatives approved a bill on Tuesday that would allow veterinarians to work for the nonprofits.

Birmingham Democrat Rep. Patricia Todd says the low-cost clinics are needed to address Alabama's pet overpopulation problem, and to try reducing the number of animals that are euthanized each year.

Being kind to animals is more than just an idea.  It's a way of treating them with respect and encouraging others to do the same.  That would include making sure that our own pets are spayed or neutered to help prevent the problem of pet overpopulation.
