Jefferson County has emerged from one the largest municipal bankruptcies in U.S. history. After two years of meeting with creditors and countless days in court the county commission can operate with more ease. But how did they get to this point? Ala. Governor Won't Try Charter Schools Again

Governor Robert Bentley says he won't pursue legalizing charter schools in the upcoming legislative session.

Gov. Robert Bentley says he doesn't plan to propose the legalization of charter schools again in the 2013 session of the Legislature.


The Republican governor proposed charter school legislation in the 2012 session, but the state teachers' organization, the Alabama Education Association, secured enough votes to stop it.
