Workers Taking Nerve Agent Samples

By Alabama Public Radio

Anniston, AL – Army and Westinghouse Anniston employees are getting ready to take nerve agent samples from rockets at the Anniston Army Depot. The samples will sent to Army laboratories in Maryland and contractor laboratories in Ohio for testing. It's part of a multi-state effort to dispose of chemical agents while learning about alternative methods of destroying chemical weapons. The leftover rockets will be destroyed at Anniston's chemical weapons incinerator. It has destroyed more than 15-thousand rockets since the process began last August.
