Knoxville, TN – The Tennessee Valley Authority Tuesday named Tom Kilgore as its next president and chief operating officer. Kilgore comes from Progress Energy Incorporated of Raleigh, North Carolina. He will be responsible for more than ten-thousand of the T-V-A's 12-thousand employees. Kilgore also will have overall management of the power production, transmission, power trading and resource management programs. Kilgore is an Alabama native who actually worked for the T-V-A one summer while studying mechanical engineering at the University of Alabama.
