By Alabama Public Radio

Glencoe, AL – Police have arrested three men on charges of vandalizing a small church in rural Etowah County. The suspects were arrested Friday on charges of third-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief. Bond for each was set at $5,000. Police Major Jeff Bryant identified the suspects as John Wesley Jones-Simpson and Christopher Sean Jones-Wayne. Both men are 19 years old and from Gadsden. Billy Wayne Jones of Attalla was also charged. The vandalism happened at the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Glencoe. The church only has about 30 members. Damage was mainly in the church's fellowship hall, but some significant damage also occurred in the sanctuary, which dates back to the 1938.
