Shelby Announces Federal Funds For Delinquency Prevention

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – The state Department of Economic and Community Affairs will receive 215 thousand dollars from the federal Department of Justice. U.S. Senator Richard Shelby says the money will be used to focus on reducing risks and enhancing protective factors to prevent youth from entering the juvenile justice system. The program offers funding incentives to encourage community leaders to work with their areas' own strengths to support delinquency prevention.
