Potential Jurors Called in Bombing Trial

By Alabama Public Radio

Birmingham, AL – About 500 people from 31 counties across north Alabama have been called to be potential jurors for the bombing trial of Eric Robert Rudolph. They were told to report to the Sheraton Civic Center Hotel ballroom in Birmingham Wednesday. Those who show up for preliminary selection will be asked to fill out a long questionnaire. But some court employees predict many of those called won't come because they simply can't. Prospective jurors are being sent to the hotel because of the large number of people involved. Also, the federal courthouse is busy with the corporate fraud trial of former HealthSouth C-E-O Richard Scrushy.
