Pell City, AL – Pell City Mayor Guin Robinson is the new executive director of Region 2020. That's an organization seeking to improve central Alabama. Robinson will not officially take over his new duties until the end of his term as mayor in October. He'll replace Ann Florie. She'll be the new head of Leadership Birmingham. Region 2020's motto is building a better place to live. It's been the central focus of the organization since it began several years ago. Representatives from 12 counties focus on transportation, education and downtown revitalization projects in central Alabama.
