Marshall Gets D.C. Support

By Alabama Public Radio

Huntsville, AL – Two members of Alabama's Congressional delegation say they now have the power to question NASA and to guide its priorities concerning its long-term intentions for Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville. U.S. Senator Richard Shelby has been named to lead a panel that directs spending for a number of agencies, including NASA. And Congressman Bud Cramer also sits on a simialr panel in the U.S. House. NASA officials have been criticized recently for discussing major space initiatives for the moon and Mars. But they've said little about how Marshall will fit into those plans.
