Marshall Doesn't Win NASA Bid

By Alabama Public Radio

Huntsville, AL – The John C. Stennis Space Center in Hancock County, Mississippi, has been selected as the site for NASA's consolidated services center. The Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville was among six research and space centers that submitted proposals. The move will initially bring 500 jobs to the area. The center will consolidate NASA's financial management, human resources, procurement and information technology that are now located all around the country. NASA officials say the contract is worth about $230 million over a 10-year period. And NASA has projected annual savings of about $6 million a year.
