Birmingham, AL – Governor Riley has appointed a new Criminal Circuit Judge in Jefferson County. William Cole of Birmingham replaces Circuit Judge Mike McCormick. McCormick is retiring. Cole has been in private practice in Birmingham since 1993. He's also served as municipal court judge in Morris since 2001, and he was a special circuit court judge in Jefferson County from 1999 until 2000. Cole also served as a special prosecutor in Homewood. His appointment begins June first.
