By Alabama Public Radio

Birmingham, AL – The upward trend in gasoline prices reversed course Monday. Triple-A Alabama says prices at gas stations in the state were down Monday. The auto club's survey finds regular unleaded gas averages $2.15/gallon, mid-grades are $2.30/gallon and premium is $2.36/gallon. Diesel fuel averages $2.24/gallon. Prices overall are down about 3/10 of a cent. Triple-A's metro survey finds Birmingham still has the cheapest gas at about $2.13/gallon. Huntsville has the most expensive at $2.18. Crude oil prices Friday dropped below the $50/barrel mark for the first time in two months.
