FranklinCo Lawyer Indicted for Pilati Connection

By Alabama Public Radio

Russellville, AL – A Franklin County lawyer is accused of lying to the FBI during the investigation of former county District Attorney John Pilati. U.S. Attorney Alice Martin says the indictment alleges that Horace Rickey of Russellville lied to agents, saying a pyament made by one of his former clients to Pilati's office was unrelated to the settlement of the client's criminal case. Pilati did plead guilty in May to a scheme to extort money from defendants in criminal cases. He's currently serving a six-month sentence in federal prison.
